UNITAR Leaders for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific: Sea and Human Security Training

FOCUS
The UNITAR Leaders for Free and Open Indo-Pacific: Sea and Human Security Training Programme (hereafter the “Programme”) is designed to equip government officials and leaders from public and private sectors with the skills, knowledge and capacity to enhance climate, social, economic, food and maritime security and establish a coordination mechanism across the Pacific. The programme will include online courses, webinars, mentoring and coaching, and in-person workshops led by UNITAR and local and international experts in the field. By the end of the programme, participants will develop and refine policy briefs and individual action plans that address challenges and needs in the Indo-Pacific and enhance regional resilience.
 
DATES and LOCATIONS
The Programme will launch online on 21 June 2024. Taking place in three phases from June 2024 to February 2025, participants will undergo online training, followed by in-person workshops in Suva, Fiji, and Japan for selected participants.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
UNITAR invites the participation of 400 government officials and representatives from the private sector and civil society organizations from Asia and Pacific Island countries, who are keen to learn and apply new knowledge to enhance sea and human security in the region.
 
FEE
UNITAR will cover all training expenses, including travel and accommodation.

Applicants are requested to complete the Online Registration Form by the deadline of 7 June 2024.
