Handover Ceremony of the Mobile Dental Clinic and Related Equipment (August 23, 2024)
2024/8/23

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Samoa, H.E. Mr. SENTA Keisuke handed over the second mobile dental clinic to the Samoan government. The handover ceremony was conducted in the presence of Hon. Minister of Health Hon. Valasi, and officials from the Ministry of Health, and other distinguished guests.
This support aims to improve healthcare standards in Samoa, particularly to meet the treatment needs of the youth. With this handover, a system has been established to provide high-quality dental services across Samoa, especially in remote areas and islands.
The Government of Japan also provided a mobile dental clinic and equipment in 2018, but the shortage of equipment remained a challenge. This latest provision is expected to strengthen Samoa's overall healthcare system, ensuring appropriate care for patients and improving their health conditions.
Additionally, the medical staff of Samoa, who received technical training in July 2024, have acquired the necessary skills to operate the clinic, enabling sustainable healthcare services in the future. This support aims to contribute to the stabilization of Samoan society and its socio-economic development, further deepening the friendly relations between the two countries.
